The team at Leesburg Veterinary Hospital provided treatment for four dogs in 2017 and nine dogs in 2018 as a direct result of Paws for your Heart fundraising. Their treatment consisted of veterinary exams, laboratory tests to confirm the heartworm disease, baseline bloodwork values, medications, heartworm treatment injections, and hospitalization during the procedures. Heartworm treatment can be long and expensive which is why so many amazing dogs get overlooked at shelters.
With the help of Zoetis, Leesburg Veterinary Hospital was able to provide these services at no cost to the rescues – making the dogs more adoptable and allowing the rescues to help more pets!
These amazing dogs are doing so well and have each found their forever homes. Your participation and donations will help us to treat more of these wonderful dogs for years to come!
